FAQ
Divide the minutes by 60. For example, 30 minutes = 30/60 = 0.5. So 2 hours 30 minutes = 2.5 decimal hours.
The integer part is the hours. Multiply the decimal part by 60 to get minutes. For example, 2.75 = 2 hours and 0.75 × 60 = 45 minutes.
Decimal hours are easier to multiply by an hourly rate. 2.5 hours × $20/hr = $50, compared to calculating with 2 hours 30 minutes.
